i have a 2000 dakota and the ball joints r squeaking really bad, isnt there a recall on this, how do i go about getting them fixed by the recall

It's not a recall..they extended the warranty on the ball joints to 100K miles. If they are squeeking, tell them you want them replaced under the extended warranty, as long as your truck is under 100k miles.

The extended warranty is for 2WD; 4x4's like mine DID get a recall for this - that's how mine were replaced while still good.

Good luck getting help with the extended warranty. My 2000 R/T is showing signs of ball joint wear but when I took it to the dealer, they said there was nothing wrong. Said the clunking noise I was hearing was a loose exhaust bolt. Noise is still there!

You need a new dealer pacman. I told mine I wanted them replaced at about 83k miles and they said no problem. I had a slight noise but nothing major. I told the service rep that since the warranty is extended to 100k, I sure as hell wasn't going to wait until they broke.
