Subject: TPS brands? IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone experienced better luck with certain brands of Throttle Position Sensors and not others? I realize the TPS voltage is more of an art than a science, but I'm trying to get as close to the .7 to .8 VDC (I believe that is the optimal voltage range?) w/out having to do the "TPS mod". Any suggestions are appreciated.

Message: I would like to ponder that its where the holes are drilled and tapped and not the TPS its self. but you might go through alot of tps before you might find one that might work. its easier and chaper to do the TPS mod

Message: Yeah.. I may or may not try it. I think my TPS is slowing going bad though, so I'm not sure if it will be worth it. Really wish I had a meter to check it. Been having a progressively worse erratic idle at startup and increasingly sloppy throttle response. Also sometimes has a rough idle at stops. At first I thought my IAC might be hosed, but I'm leaning more towards the TPS. I checked all my hoses for about 30 minutes to make sure I didn't have a vacuum leak. PCV may be the issue, but I just wanted to get people's opinions on TPS brands since I might have to get one.

Message: My OEM TPS was giving me occasional hot idle stalling and inappropriate kickdown at highway speeds. I replaced it with a GP Sorenson brand, and it seems to be cured. Never got a TPS code, haven't checked voltages.
