Message: Does anyone know if you can upgrade the head light bulbs to a greater wattage without issues?
Any brands?
I find that the stock style replacements are quite dimm on thes dark wet west coast nights.

Message: If you have the plastic headlights, the problem is not the bulbs, but the whole headlight. The plastic degrades with time and reduces the amount of light on the road.
The only fix is to replace the unit.
Napa has them for $150 each.
I tried to polish the outside surface, but the inside is also bad.

Message: There is one possible fix. If your lights have yellowed on the outside, you can polish the yellow off. Takes some elbo grease or as I did, a Drill with a 4 inch cotton pad attachment. THE POLISH CLOTH MUST BE SOFT. I used MOTHERS ALUMINUN POLISH. Worked good for me. There are lots of things you can use but most important is IT HAS TO BE SUPER FINE GRIT. The mothers feels like thick cream, not grit just to give you an idea. Mine look like new after doing this.
So many problems .... So little time
