I would like to see justice for what has happened, but how can you get justice when the people that masterminded this attack have already achieved their goals, they have already done the damage. I would think it might be a bit of a waste of time. Although most people would like to see death to all people involved in the terrorist attack, it cannot bring back what we have already lossed.

I can tell you guys are 1)young and 2)never served in the military. This sort of thing must be met with overwhelming retalliation! Can you reason with a rabid pit bull? Of course not! You kill the dog and eliminate the problem! Kind of like Jack Nicholson's part in "A Few Good Men". SOMEBODY has to do the dirty work to allow you to sleep safe and sound at night and protect you from some really nasty people. So don't you DARE judge their methods! "Sleep tight, pilgrim!"
I'll agree that nothing will bring those victims back but we MUST inflict horrendous losses on the enemy to prevent this from ever happening again. That's the only real insurance we have. If we eliminate that whole crazy culture, they will be viewed as "hero's" only to cadavers! - Rest in pieces, ragheads! (Oh, and thanks for the oil!)

Not only must retalliation be carried out on the monsters who carried out this attack, but it is also important that EVERY terrorist organization in the world be shut down. Any organization that utilizes terrorist tactics against innocent people must be made to pay the price. We must ensure however that we do not drop to their level and bring justice to the guilty, while the innocent are left alone.
It is time for a World War on Terrorism... the word must go out that it stops, here and now or a price must be paid and that price will be paid in blood.

I am not disagreeing with the fact that we should wage war, however merely pointing out the fact that killing just a couple "rabid pit bulls" will not solve the problem. There is really very little hierarchy in terrorist groups. The way most terrorist infrastuctures are designed that killing the leaders will not eliminate the problem. Others will rise shortly thereafter and the process will continue. As long as USA is seem as the world financial powerhouse, there will always be those that will fight against us. I just hope this war on terrorism will not turn out the same as the war in Vietnam against communism. To this day we still have communism in asian countries. I can't say we won that war.

I sincerely apologize for any "implied generalities". I was in the Air Force from '68 to '75 myself. What I meant was the younger population generally seems to be more idealistic and passive than those that were actually involved in an "armed conflict". The Gulf War was more like a "one-sided video game war" (thank God!) and that's probably what they relate to.
We both probably had high school/college buddies that came back from 'Nam, minus some body parts - like arms and legs OR in body bags! They just don't know what that feels like - until today, that is! This threat is REAL and we must do whatever it takes to prevent this from happening again. Cancer surgery removes some healthy cells as well as diseased cells as a precautionary measure. I think this situation is comparable in many ways.
It's really quite simple, either we deal with the problem and seek a more PERMANENT solution, or we pass the buck to our children and then they'll also grieve about the lost innocent lives in the future!

No "slams" intended my friend, I assure you! We are ALL proud Americans. Viet Nam was "forfieted" because the politicicians overruled the military generals and history repeated itself! General McArthur wanted to sweep all the way through Korea but President Truman fired him... (Gee, McArthur MIGHT have prevented the Korean War!)
President Johnson stopped the bombing of Hanoi for political reasons! Another stupid mistake!!!
My point is simply this; you define an objective and then bring ALL your resources to bear until the objective is met 100%! "Collateral damage" is unavoidable to some degree but better it be them than us! We MUST deliver an unmistakable message in this case, a message that will live on for generations and be understood by others! Anyting less is a half-assed measure in my humble opinion.

The way I see it. If people from your contry celebrate when they kill 5000+ PEOPLE / Americans. They obvosily support the terrorists actions. Killing Bin Ladin will do nothing there will be an other leader and then an other. To ensure safty of North americans we need to get rid of the whole crowd. These people dont care about there lifes and have access to some serious weapons. Bush needs to do what ever it takes to get rid of this crasy Culture before there type of crime ruins the world.
The most importent thing is that we dont go weak. We must finish it this time and send a message to these people that USA is way out of there league and if you Fu*k with us it certain death to you. If this message is not successfully sent they will keep sending more extremists to destroy a life that americans have earned.

Food for thought.I am all for getting the people that are responsible for this but get the right ones. first one must consider what could have brought this on,retalliation,1. afew years ago we shoutdown one of their airliners full of civillians,2.how many civillians have been killed in Iraq during and as a direct result of the bombing,3.in Sudan a pharmacutical manufacture, 4.a television station in Belgrade,5.a Chinese embassy,and the list goes on. Terrorism and who is a terrorist is in the eye of the beholder, you don't waste a race of people for the acts of a few. we kill them they kill us, and for those that think WAR is like hollywood pull yor heads out from whever you have them.three tours in VIET NAM,and not as a REMPH. You now may know the feelings that others feel at loosing someone under similar conditions.Like I said at the start get them but get thse that did it.

Th country that bin laden is in is a really poor country. He is worth millions of dollers. He is the one filling out the goverment's pay check. He can control the whole country because he has so much money. If he goes then it doesnt mean someone else can take his place.

I believe the government has the right idea...we have to take out the top dog/dogs including bin laden, sadam and arafat and then go after the cells located around the world. the only way this will work is if the whole world puts a stop to terrorism. realistically we can only do so much but we have to go after them financially and militarily. without money they cant afford to buy the tickets or the bombs required to commit thier cowardly acts. I have served in the Navy 79-85 and absolutely no where I have been compares to the United States. I personally am very proud how our nation puts its petty differences aside when the need arises. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
