Subject: Quad Cab Front Height IP: Logged
Message: I've noticed that, after looking at all the NICE trucks on this site, that my 2001 QC 5.9L sits lower in the front end than most/all others i've seen.
Is this bad? Any particular reason? Can it be corrected?
Just curious.
Thanks!

Message: I don't know... mine seems normal... jealous of your 5.9L though... might be all that weight... Does anyone know where I can find suspension lift kits for my 04? All I've been able to find is 97-99. And on that note what changed in 2000? Why couldn't I put a 99 suspension lift on my 04 if they're all the same body style? Looks and sounds like a stupid question but did they change all the suspension or what?

Message: One thing that changed after '99 was the front differentilal. You guys know you can lift the front about 2" by cranking up the torsion bars if you have that style suspension ?

Message: From my understanding.....
The trucks have a lower set front end for better "mileage" (don't shoot me) and that the lower front end makes it look "sportier".
I cranked my torsion bars so that the truck is level. The added benefit is higher ground clearance for the "occasional" (read often) off road trip I seem to find myself on so many times.
I did not find any mileage diiference so I think that reason was wishful sales pitch.

not a bad look, I just like a mored Leveled out look. if i put 25 sheets of drywall in the bed and 3 people in the back seat, it looks normal. hee hee.
yeah, derek, the 5.9 is nice. not great mileage but it's a truck, and i like the power. fully loaded with sheetrock and joint compount (over 1600lbs cargo), the OD kicked in and the engine didn't even know it was there
the suspension did tho. i'm impressed, the Dak's are tough.
