Hello,
I have a 1992 dakota and when I go to start it, it just spins but never fires up sometimes.. And when It does start, I can have the gas all the way to the floor and it will jump between 800RPM and 1500RPM... then sometimes it will operate normal then fall back down... There is a popping noise coming from the engine bay when I have it wide open... What is wrong here? Please help me! I need this fixes asap!

Check fault codes.
Could be clogged catcon or slipped timing chain.

no cat on my truck and I dont know how to check the codes because Autozone said they couldnt do it and I really dont want to spend $60+ to go somewhere else unless i have to... That's why I'm asking here first. The timing chain is fairly new... I'll mention that but are there any other suggestions?
