i have been wondering if i should get duals put on my dakota, its a 99 3.9 liter 4x4 5 speed, with 33 in. mud tires, and a three inch body lift. i already have a dynomax muffler and tip,and it is pretty loud for a V6, but i want it louder. is $160 worth it, or will it not even make that much of a difference??

I had a flowmaster 40 standard single on my 2003 3.9L and it was nice and loud had a very deep sound for a V6 and when you floored it you got noticed.

How much would a good Flowmaster cost. I have factory muffler, I just want something a little louder. I just want to put another louder muffler on there without doing any modifications, what should I get?

I bought mine a year ago for $127 shipped to my door. If you like loud, go for the 40 series, that's what I have, but personally if I could do it again, I would have gone 50 seires. The 40 is awesome, but you get alot of cabin drone, and at high RPM acceleration (4000+) you get a ricey/tinney sound.

If it doesn't fit, you're using the wrong hammer!

I bought my Flowmaster Super 40 from summitracing.com and paid $86.90 for the muffler, tax, and shipping. It has a really deep tone and you are defintly noticed going down the road. The one thing that really made a differance in the exhaust tone(making it deeper) was a 10" round Edlebrock air cleaner w/ a 3" tall KNN filter. good luck.

Of course, you could just take a muffler or two off. I took two of the three mufflers on my 2005 3.7 off and it sounds awesome. And if you don't like it, it's pretty simple to put them back on.
