Was looking around dodgetrucks.org, and they got a thread goin about how you should use gl3 instead of gl5 in the ax15 transmission. WAs wondering what you all thought here. My books all say use 75 90 gl5 gear oil.

I just use AMSOIL Syntheic Gear Lube 75w 90. Have it in my front and rear diff. No squawks, chatters, or anything of that nature.

Ditto jpkomm.
My 98 3.9 automatic has 500,000 miles using Amsoil lubrication, air and oil (including bypass) filtration. The stuff seems to work.
As the saying goes, it'll save you money in the long run.

Might want to start with 3/5 synthetic diff. fluid in the rear. I put in 3/5 valvoline 70W-90 synthetic at my 30,000 mile service interval. Waiting until 60 or 70K before doing the same to the front diff.
