After doing some extensive searching on the internet and at my local dealers, etc. I've found that the factory tow hooks for the 02 QC were not available as an aftermarket item. Dealers in my area tell me they can't get them they were available only from the factory. i've found that they are connected via a cross member for strength.
I've been searching for some in the local salvage yards but few have dakotas and none have been 4x4. I've found references that full size GM/Chevy tow hooks will work, but I'd like to have the factory set up with the cross member. I'd rather be safe than sorry and not risk bending a frame rail.
If anyone knows anywhere that specializes on dodge parts that may have some available or if any of you have some available for sale, I'd be interested.
Failing that, i'm going to have to use some of the universal hooks and fab up a cross member.
Funny thing is, the few dealers I've called all said they get alot of calls regarding this and would sell a lot if chrysler made them available.

tow hooks are all the same I think. I saw a person on line that used the chevy ones and said had no probs. people have been using parts off a ford and putting them on chevys, dodge and so on. its nothing new and dont see what the prob would be. after all its a tow hook. if it bolts up to your dodge whats the big deal.

I don't want to just bolt a single tow hook to the frame. If i hook up to just one tow hook, i could bend the frame. I'd rather hook up 2 tow hooks with a crossmember for added strength.
I may just purchase a front receiver (currently looking at curt) and bolt some tow hooks to that.

I'm pretty sure facotry tow hooks don't exist. We've talked about this before on this website. If you were able to do a search(which you can't) you would have been able to find this out. I'd like some stronger tow hooks myself. I made some drop brackets out of 1/4 inch plate with plans that were on this site. I still my have these plans somewhere?? However, I don't feel that these brackets are strong enough for really serious situations. The chevy hooks that you were discussing only work if you have a 3" body lift. I tried getting those also, then I found out that I needed the body lift. I'm still holding out for a suspension lift for my 04 dakota, that they don't make yet. Also, the chevy ones seem like they would pivot up and down on our trucks because of they way they designed.
If there is some new tow hooks out there with a cross member I'd really be interested. Sorry so long, but wanted you to have all the info I could give. It sux going half cocked.

Tow hooks from the factory DO exist. They were available when installed at the factory. They were not available as parts/accessories. This is according to 2 dealers and my searching the net.
There's 2 styles of tow hooks from chevy/gm that will fit from what I read on the net. One is the style that mount between the frame rails (round end where the screw fits through) and has a little arm to prevent it from rotating (too much). There there is the style same as the dakotas... flat bracket with the holes drilled permindicular to the hook .. these are the ones that are designed to mount to the end of a cross member, a hook on each side. Then the hook ends mount up into the bottom of the frame (which is why the hook is perpindicular to the screw hole).
I have bookmarks showing pictres of both styles of gm/chevy tow hooks and also of the dakota factory tow hook set up on my other computer.

Oh pictures, lets check em out. Maybe we could fab our own type of cross member up. I've tried the type of gm tow hook that you described above, which requires a body lift. How is the other gm tow hook?
