Subject: Timing Chain install questions IP: Logged
Message: I am changing the timing chain on a 5.2l. I pulled the Crank sprocket using a 3 jaw puller. Whats the best way to put it back on .... sure is a tight fit!

Message: The FSM doesn't address your problem. May I suggest using a soft headed hammer and lightly tapping it into place. Let us know if that works for you.

Message: They come off hard, but generally will go right on with minimal force if you clean up the crank snout and have a new gear to install.
