Message: I have a 99 Dak R/T and a 2001 Durango R/T. The Dakota has anemic brakes, almost like one set isn't working. Yet the dealer has said that they are working to specs. The Durango has much better braking despite the fact that it's heavier. The heater on the Durango works a lot faster in warming up despite the fact that there is more interior space to heat up than the club Cab Dak. The durango has 93,000 miles and the Dak only 40,000. How's the braking on your Dakotas?

Message: Many on this boeard will probably think I'm nuts, but the brakes on my '04 4X4 CC are great. They are 4 wheel discs and stop the truck very well. I have owned an '04 GTO and an '05 Bonneville GXP, and the Dakota's brakes have better pedal feel and modulation than both of those cars. IMHO...

Message: Hmm. I think the 4X4 4 wheel disc brakes are defenitely massive compared to the standard ones. Mine stops like a mo fo.
Just now might be needing front pads at 37k. Our 2004 Grand Caravan has 32k (4 wheel disc) and already anialated a set of front pads and I just had to replace those front rotors too.
So in comparison I actually think my Dakota brakes are good.
