Has anyone seen the 'Rampage' concept at Allpar.com? Looks like competition for the Honda Ridgeline. I can't decide if I like it or not. It would definitely not be for me, but I could see how some families could utilize it's versatility. Dodge won't put a Hemi in our Dakota's, but this thing has one and it is FWD! Can you imagine the torque steer?! It doesn't look like it is even offered with 4wd. The rear doors actually slide back like a van's instead of opening conventionally. Also the exhaust exits before the rear wheels. I think the sides of the bed are too high (like the Ridgeline) for convienient loading/unloading but the pictures could be misleading.
We'll see if this thing actually ever hits production. What are some of your opinions on this concept?

The brief video I saw of it, I like it. I think some of the power features (i.e. doors and fold down seats) are a bit too much and just more things to break. I like the looks and personally I don't need a Hemi. I think it should be an option for those that do, tho.

The exhaust exiting before the wheels... I've had that on several vehicles altho not stock. As I recall the mustangs had that for a while too. Whn I lived in FL, the law (as told to me by the muffler shop) was that it had to exit behind the passenger compartment. I've seen a truck or two here in SC done that way too. I'd like to have mine done like that next time it needs replacing.

Hrm. FWD, sliding doors, stow'n'go, flat load floor, unit construction... it seems there's a very important product to Mopar that has those same specifications, and is due for an update... :)

"Taking on the Ridgeline is a great idea, but front wheel drive and Honda-like ugly-styling might not be the best way to go about it. "

Amen to that!

And a HEMI FWD, WTF???

Trash can that idea.

The only concepts i like are the Challenger and the Camaro, true V8s with RWD! I dont know whats the idea of FWD V8s Chevy did it with their impala and its enough. This rampage would blow the doors of the ridgeline but FWD is not a real good idea.

For all new Mopar info, visit www.chryslerweblog.com not parts and stuff, but news. Also, sweet pictures, links, and videos. At the bottom of the page you can look at the past stories. There's an expecially sweet Charger Burnout, and if you go back far enough, a "unique" Jeep commercial. Reply if any of you visit the site.
