Message: Blizzard........
This is in reguards to the post I did before on
this board "slight grinding noise help", you
wanted me to let you know if I had tire rubbing
'cause you have the same wheels.... well ....
I do have rubbing, but only
in reverse and only when I'm lock to lock,
and oddly enough the left front rubs more
than the right front....hopefully I will
"cure" that when I install the 2" body lift.
"O" TAY :)

Message: Thanks, Mike. And what width tire are you running on that wheel? Those are the 15x8 wheels, right?

Message: So was that the cause of your grinding noise? Where do they rub? Someplace that can be "trimmed"?
Thanks

Message: they rub on the front fender well on the
very bottom,right where the "sheetmetal"
and the plastic liner meet, I don't think you'd
want to trim it 'cause you would have to
cut away some sheetmetal on the bottom, too
ugly in my eyes, it's only about a 2" - 2.5"
section so that is why I'm thinking that
when I install the 2" body lift it should
clear the tire enough to stop the rubbing.
No that wasn't the source of the grinding noise
I still havn't figured that out, balljoints
don't make a grinding noise when they go, do they?
I'm thinking CV joints/bearings/U joints/
something along those lines - probably needs
greasing , also thinking that maybe I should
install a drop pitman arm?
I'll figure it out sooner or later, hopefully
more sooner than later.

And, hmmmm, that really makes me wonder what's gonna happen with my body lift. Where does the tire hit the fender? Right at the corner of the tread? It's weird that yours would hit when Hawk is running a positive offset on his wheels and his 33's don't hit there. Wonder what I'm gonna run into.

Message: Good question Mike. I may go out and measure them on the Durango in a minute and compare to mine. Its a 99 and my Dak is a 2000. Mine are rubbing just a tad right here. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/hawkeyedak/vwp?.dir=/Yahoo!+Photo+Album/Post+Lift&.src=ph&.dnm=Pic13.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/hawkeyedak/lst%3f%26.dir=/Yahoo!%2bPhoto%2bAlbum/Post%2bLift%26.src=ph%26.view=t
Think I can re-adjust the bumper a little and clean up my trim work and be ok though.

Message: Thats exactly where mine are rubbing -plus-
just a little bit more in towards the engine.
I should be able to clear it with the
2" body lift ;)
