MOMMA said "DON'T BUY NO UGLY TRUCK!"
(I guess the Pontiac Aztec is uglier.. but hell, it's not a "pickup truck")

Message: How about the Chev Avalanche for ugly? They look prehistoric. What's with all this armour plating thing going on, it's like Mad Max meets Transformers.

Message: I wish the auto makers would ask the owners what they would like to see in the trucks. Whats with all the plastic on the new trucks? The avalanche has a ton of the plastic. It seems like it would start to fade.

Message: Well before you buy one, ( Nissan Frontier) Look at last months issue of Consumers Report and see how they rated them against all the rest. Better yet, Look on this board where it asks about Toyotas and Dakotas. I wrote on one of those postings what it said and where it ranked.

Message: I drove home behind a bright yellow one tonight, it was not an attractive sight. Just personal taste - but that armoured car look leaves me cold. It's that whole "crossover vehicle" thing, they seem to have an identity crisis. The Buick Rendezvous looks like a shrunken Aztek, the Aztek looks like a van with an amputated butt, the Sport Track looks like the grafted together remains of 3 or 4 different vehicles, it's an SUV that wants to be a pick-up. The Avalanche is simply grotesque. Just my opinion... however, they do serve to make our trucks look that much more attractive :)!

Message: Okay, brace yourselves. There is a pickup version of the Mini Cooper coming. I shît you not. It is so cute it's unbelievable. There's also a concept PT Cruiser truck, you know it looks better as a truck than it does as a car.
