Subject: Clicking Sound IP: Logged
Message: Greetings All.
I have a '97 Dakota Ext Cab, V6, Automatic. When I accelerate I hear a clicking sound, can't quite figure out where it's coming from. It increases in regularity with more acceleration and once I'm over 45 or so I can't hear it over road noise but most of my driving is in the city around 35 or so and this clicking is driving me nuts, especially with everyone turning around looking at me. I've had this truck for almost 2 years now and I love it, this is the only real problem I've had, I've got another couple months left on warrenty & I'm taking it in next week, but I was wondering if anyone hear might have an idea what to tell them to look for, instead of the tech telling me it's just engine noise. Also my headliner is starting to sag in the front, anyone know a good glue to use to keep it up? Thanks for any help.

Message: Check your brakes first, just raise the wheel and spin it by hand to see if that is where your clicking is coming from. It could also be a U joint.
3M makes a spray for your headliner, check with NAPA.
