If anyone out there knows of someone who has, or has one themselves, I need a new motor for my truck cheap. I have a 95 Dodge Dakota Sport. The motor that is in there now has 252,000 miles on it and knocks real bad now. Believe it or not it also still has the original trans in it to. I'm looking for a 318 with somewhat low miles. It is M.P.I. If i can't find used, anybody know who has a cheap crate engine. I would prefer long block. Dodge wants $3,200.00 for a reman long block. That's just a little too much for my pocket book. Hope to hear from somebody soon. I really don't want to sell the truck because the body is still in good shape. Thank you all for the info.

I know locally in DFW you can get a reman 318 installed for around $2200 or so. Might also check www.car-part.com.

I got a truck with 212+ miles and the engine runs with out skipping a beat. A believe ir or not I still got the old out of date 46RH tranny!

Where do you live? if you willing to wait about 3 weeks i sell you my 318 for 300 dallors , its in my 96 dakota sport has 92k miles on it , i am putting a 400 stroker in it. I live in souther illinois

Thanks Sneezer for the info. I checked out car part and found some engines on there. this is for STS, souds like your right up there with me on miles anyway. I wish mine still ran without skipping a beat. My oil pump went out on me a couple years ago when i was out of town and i think that might be part of the problem as to why the motor is the way it is. I also used to tow a 21ft hot boat which weighed 5,000lbs and put a truck camper in the bed at the same time. Boy you should have seen the looks i got going down the highway!!!!, as i have always said though if it wasn't a DODGE it wouldn't have done it. I would like to see a S-10 or a RANGER do that!!!!! MoveOverPerformanceApproachingRapidly===MOPAR!!!!!Thanks again you all!!!
