I was wondering if anyone has ever changed out their headlights and if it was a difficult task. I bought some new bulbs and I took a look and it seems like it would be kinda hard to get my big hand in there to change them out. what is the easiest way to get this done?

I'm assuming you are talking about a 97-04 GenIII, right?

You'll need a T10 torx driver and a 10mm socket and fairly long extension (6" or so).

Your manual will describe it, but remove the one torx bolt holding the corner lense in, then pull it out. 1/4 turn to remove the bulbs and set it aside.

(3) 10mm bolts hold the headlight in. Remove those and give it a tug to remove the alignment pin, headlight is now loose. 1/4 turn on the retaining ring and the bulb will come out.

Be sure to wipe the new bulb with a CLEAN DRY rag or alcohol. Don't touch it, install in reverse order.

If your just changing the bulbs, the only thing that makes it difficult is the stock air intake box. It might be easier for you to just remove that box and do it from under the hood than remove the whole headlamp assembly. I ditched my stock air intake so I don't have any trouble changing the bulbs at all now, I just pop the hood and go to work.
