 Subject: only headlights

Seems like the Shelby Dakota I just purchased has no lights that work other than the headlights. All the fuses check out, but the volt meter is dead, and none of the other lights work. Brake lights and directionals work, the radio, and the heater work as well. Gas guage, oil pressure, temp, tach, and speedo also function as well. Any thoughts??? Years back, I had a Coronet that something similar happened to-it was the directional switch in the steering column. Could this be the same with these trucks???
