Subject: dakota IP: Logged
Message: i have a 1999 dakota that wont start. the gas tank is full, but the gauges say otherwise. how can i check my fuel pump to see if it needs to be replaced?

Message: If you turn the key to the "on" position you should hear the fuel pump kick on for a second or two (until the fuel lines and rail get up to pressure). If you don't hear it check your power to the fuel pump. Or get a bucket, pull the fuel line off the fuel rail and put it in the bucket. Have a freind turn the key to the "on" position. See if a constant stream of fuel goes into the bucket.
