how do you fix a loose sterrring colum? on a 88'dodge dakota 4x4. some body please help. i thnk a bushing in worn or something. how do i fix it, and what tools do I need? my parent are not willing to get it fixed for me. but , of couse there looking at newer car for my younger sister! ha. sorry for the bad speeling.

Message: Hi. you first off need a steering wheel puller. Is it just the steering wheel loose, or is the shaft inside loose? If you have a tilt steering column it could be the tilt mechanism loose. It shouldnt be too hard if the shaft is loose, but if the tilt mechanism is, you'll have to tear the column almost completely apart. I'm in an automotive school right now, and we're tearing apart steering columns, just let me know if ya need any help.

Message: I need information on how to fix my steering colum. I have a 1987 Chevy Celebirty. The whole shaft is loose and do not know how to take the whole steering wheel colum off. I pretty much have the wheel off and now I am stumped.HELP!
