has anyone herd of doing this?
instaling a glasspack and runing it on the highway to get it hot then comming home putting a water hose in it to cool it off quickly breaking the elements inside it. my uncle said he did this to his f150 and it sounds better. is he full of it or not?

I like the way my glasspack sounds... any louder and it would be too loud for my taste... why waste your time ruining one when you could just install a straight piece of pipe?

That's what I was thinking mccamp...isn't the end result the equivalent of running straight pipes?

Distroy the glass packing or just drive it and over time it gets distroyed anyway > Glass packs are ok if you put new ones on once a year or 2 depending on how much you drive > No matter what > There a cheap answer toa desired result that well change to the worse in short order > In other words > Glass packs are straight pipes being made the slow way

I think the muffler Chrysler put on my 2001 QC is a glass pack. At least, that is what the website said at that time. It has been slowly getting louder over the past 4 years, but there is no rust to account for that.
