Subject: Autocross question IP: Logged
Message: Im a pretty new fan to the whole autocross scene and just had a question about it. Wondering how many guys out there are running a cc dak with a auto trans. I know it makes more sense to run a manual, but auto is what i got. So was wonderin if im alreaddy at a disadvantage, or if there are others out there just like me still tearing it up in autocross? thanks

Message: I autocrossed my RC R/T just for fun once. It did pretty good. I ran it with the tranny in 2nd gear the entire time. The biggest disadvatage for you is the CC espsically if you dont have a LSD to get decent rotation.

Message: SCCA events allow the organizers to choose to
allow or prohibit trucks running. Typically our
region will allow R/Ts, and the Ford and Chevy
sport trucks to run as long as the driver seems
to be reasonable. But please be careful out
there, the first time a truck becomes a danger to
a corner worker it can expect to be asked to
leave.
Any truck that is raised will not be allowed to
run, and if it looks like it might roll once it
is running it is asked to leave.
Personally I feel that Dakotas are much more
suited to towing AutoX cars than running the
course. Spend $500 on a CRX and go have some
fun :)
