Subject: Remote Entry - Keys Locked Inside! IP: Logged
Message: If you have remote keyless entry and you've ever locked your keys in your vehicle (who hasn't?) here's a cool way to get in. Here's what you need:
1. A second remote at your house, work, etc.
2. 2 cell phones (one with you, the other with
the 2nd remote.
3. Have person with spare remote #2 call you on
your cellphone.
4. Hold your cell phone about a foot away from
the passenger's door near the side-view mirror.
5. Have person with 2nd remote press the unlock
button. The doors will unlock! This can be
done from anywhere you can get a good signal.

Message: just keep an extra key in your front pocket at all times. I keep one next to my wallet and when I pick up my wallet, i automatically pick up the key. Or put the key in your wallet, of course, that'll be a bigger bump in your wallet than than condom you used to carry as a teenager.

Message: I carry a spare in my wallet. I specifically hunted around until I found a flat metal key - ie no rubber /plastic on the end.
On my old ranger, I hid a key in one of those magnetic key holders in the support brace that supported the bed. I had a screw in there to keep it from sliding out while turning, etc. Had to use my fingers to lift it over the bolt to get it out.
I also have a spare at home in adition to the one my wife has in case I get mugged and someone takes my keys and wallet.

Message: No remotes here! Good ole fashioned key. Also, the spare is good for warming up the truck on those cold mornings. It was 28 here when I left for work this morning. I usually start my truck with the spare, lock the doors. That way I still have my house keys to lock those doors when I leave and it is a little harder to steal my truck.

Message: how is it harder to steal your truck. all they have to do is smash the window and open the door. drive off honking the horn yelling thanks for warming up the truck for us. then drive away. yeah it makes it a lil harder lol.

Message: If you know how things work, you'll know that it won't work.
The key fob transmits a low intensity radio signal. The antenna in your truck picks it up, and activates the black box under the dash.
A cell phone detects analog sound, converts it to digital, and then transmits that signal via high intensity radio signal eventually ending up at your second cell phone. The signal is then converted back to analog sound and broadcast to your ear.
If your remote starter would respond to analog sound, all you'de have to do is shout in the right tone and it would start.

Message: Try Walmart for the flat keys to keep in your wallet. They cost
about $1. Cheap lockout insurance. I keep one in my wallet and
one at my office. I learned to keep a spare spare at work the day
I locked both my wallet and keys in my truck.
What a Homer Simpson moment.

Message: I doubt they care about the cold when they are thinking about stripping your truck down and all the money they will make off Ebay parting out your truck. bet it will make them feel all rosey and warm inside =-Þ
you would be covered by your insurance but man watch out for the rake hike. also they might not cover it if they found out you left the keys in the vehicle running.
had a friend that ran in to a 7-11 for just a few min and left his car running. he locked the doors. came out and his car was gone. dont temp the crooks. yo uknow they have no will power.
beings someone already tested I wont bother. I knew it wouldnt work. where is this antenna located at? I noticed it unlock further from the driver side unlike the passenger side.
