Subject: Replacement Tires IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 Regular Cab V6 5 spd truck. I'm a very easy driver and everything on my truck is original - brakes, clutch, and even the factory Goodyear Eagle LS Tires at 94,000 miles. I was never thrilled with their performance but am quite pleased with this kind of mileage. I wanted to upgrade to a Michelin, BF Goodrich, Bridgestone, etc, but can't find 255/65/15's hardly anywhere. I don't really want to drop down to 235 width for LTX MS Michelins. My truck is lowered 2 inches so I'm worried about increasing diameter much more than an inch. Any suggestions about good, reasonably priced and performing replacements?
I'm looking into 255/65/15 Pirelli Scorpions or 255/70/15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. Any feedback on these?
Thank you for your input.

Message: 94000 miles on factory tires and brakes??? I hope you meant 49000, which is a good full service life for a lot of parts.
I have 4x4 so I only use AT tires for our fairly harsh winters and the occasional offroading. However, I have heard nothing but good comments on BFG Radial TA's...
Going from 65 to 70 aspect ratio for that width will increase almost exactly 1" for height. Going from 28 to 29" overall. That is a mathematical figure based on given ratings, actual height is probably a bit lower than that on both tires.

Message: Honestly, 94,000 is correct. I wanted a tire that would last well. I ended up going with the BFG's...had them put on today. We'll see how they hold up. Thanks for your reply.
