Message: I'm thinking about doing some minor paint work. The sticker has a paint code PX8 (black). Anyone know what type of paint was used at the factory. Acrylic Enamel? Urethane? Thanks.

Message: Yeah PX8 is the same paint code on my truck. If you have a good sherwin williams automotive finishing store by you. Then that would be your best shot. I have painted many of cars with PPG, House of color, dupont, sherwin williams, and a few others. Sherwin williams and dupont are one of the most popular painting prody=ucts used by body shops. I use sherwin more than any of the others for factory repairs. If I am doing anything custom I use PPG,house of color with the candies, and stuff like that. I honestly think that you will have the better matching color if you go through sherwin williams. At least the store I go through is really good at matching the colors. You will be using and enamel based paint. More than likely a two stage basecoat / clearcoat. If you go through sherwin williams get the good stuff ultra7000 series material. Hopefully this helps you.

Message: www.paintscratch.com matches exactly, in my experience. Comes in 12.5 oz spray cans, quarts and gallons. They have clearcoat as well as finish colors.
