Subject: center wheel thing?
IP: Logged

Message:
You all helped me out SOOOO much this past summer when my husband decided to tow my car halfway across the country (I didn't believe it could be done, but you all assured me!).

I have another request!

Yesterday he noticed that the center cap thing on one of his wheels was missing. And on another wheel, one of the lug things is different (he thinks they lost one when we got our new tires put on, and they just threw an old one on that they had extra).

It is all just cosmetic, but I'm sure you all can relate that it just bugs him to see it like that.

I was thinking of getting those two things for him for Christmas, but I don't know where to get them or what they are even called!

Can anyone help!?!?

Thanks!!!

Maria

You can find center caps on eBay pretty easily if you are comfortable with that business.

Probably what happened to the lug nut was the decorative chrome cap fell off the nut. It's a rather cheesey construction. I have had two of my caps fall off.

New lug nuts at the dealer are ridiculoulsy expensive from the dealer (I think $6 when I looked into it). car-parts.com might be the best spot to start checking.

I looked at BOTH car-parts.com and Ebay, and they don't have any!

I found a wheel center cap on Ebay, but it was for only up to 2000 dakotas, my husbands is a 2003 I think.

And I don't know if I would feel comfortable going to a salvage yard!
