this kid I know has a 2000 MonteCarlo SS (automatic), he was bragging that be beat a 1997 - 2004 (Stock) Dakota in a race, and another friend wants him to shut up, and he wants me to race him. that 2000 Carlo SS is rated at a 7.9 - 8.0 sec 0-60, and a 16.1 1/4 time.
my dakota is more closely rated at 7.2 sec 0-60 and a 15.5 - 15.6 1/4,
I shouldn't have a problem, but it would be close.
but I also told the kid that racing doesn't solve anything, and doesn't prove anything, I told him that my truck would jerk his little car around backwards. I told him that Power and Weight matter over quickness.

what do you think?

I think that with your truck being a manual, it will all depend on your driving/racing ability. But, with that list of mods, I would be surprised if you lost that race. You should smoke him and shut him up.

Childish? Nothing at all wrong with a little competition...especially with a Chevy. :)
I won't get on anyones case about racing unless its done in a populated area...though it SHOULD (I'm no preacher here :)) be done on a track.

that is pathetic that the Monte Carlo runs 0-60mph in 7.9 and the 1/4 is 16.1. that thing weighs no more than a dakota and has a 350ci with more power. race him and show him not to fuk with a dodge. dodges aren't like the fords chevy has been kicking to the curb. if they talk sh!t than tell them to prove it.
race him win him teach mopar is a force to be reckon with!!!
and some mods to slow it down!

yea, thanks guys, but yea, I really don't want to race him, but I will pull him
I really don't want to lose my truck or go to jail, I love my truck too much
but what I will do, is take him to a track, and do it there!
I was surprised to see the 0 - 60 for that SS to be 7.9, but that is what it says on Carstats, so I think it is pretty accurate, they get their results from caranddriver and Motortrend anyhow.
just wait till I get 4.10s soon!

Dude, are you smoking crack. It is a 2000 monte carlo. Its got the 3800 with front wheel. There are no monte carlos with that body style with 350's. The new 2006 models will be getting a 5.3 liter but chevy pretty much did away with 5.7's.

haha, well, my friend told that kid to keep dreaming,
cause if I crushed a new Impala LS, that gets the same 1/4 time and 0 - 60 ( as the 2000 MC SS, Which is odd), I can beat a Carlo with the same motor.

Monte Carlo's are pos cars for pos drivers with pos brains. Dak's are men's toys. My brother says he would take my 4.7 Dak anyday over some little v6 spots car because he thinks that it has more balls than any car hes ever drove. And with the electronic tranny in mine, it would probably kick some ass in a race.
