Message: Ok have two questions for the experts. If I change to synthetic diff fluid will I still have to use the Mopar diff friction modifier? Also when I back up (2000 Quad Cab/392 rear) turn right or left the rear grinds or chatters but straight back is ok, Is this normal?

Message: No, it ain't normal. Take it back to the dealer and have them put the friction modifier in- like mine, it apparently was left out of yours.

Message: Yes most synthetics still require that you add a friction modifer for use in limited slip. Some companys make gear lube with it already added to it for limited slip applications but most do not. If you use a friction modified gear lube in a syncronised manual transmission you can have trouble with the syncros' not doing their job so they leave it out of the general gear lube.
