Message: 93 should have 180hp at the engine. In 94 it went down to 175hp, because of minor change in exhaust pipe.

Message: I'd start off by getting rid of that glass pack. It takes away from your low end tourqe. Put on a Gibson system. You won't have the sound of a pack, but you'll gain more HP and low end torque. Slight mods: 8mm wires, cold air intake, underdrive pullies, relocate IAT sensor, Jet chip, and drop in a 4.10 on the rear just to push the power better.

Message: like josh said. also you could go with a 48mm tb. also, you could do the tps mod. it will not give more hp, but it will give better acceleration.

Message: Keep the glass pack, and run an exhaust pipe (tail Pipe) out the back. It will sound better that way and out perform all the suggested replacements. Horse power and Torque will be up from Gibson, Magna Flow, or Flowbastard. Then do something with the Motor, replace it with a good salvage yard 5.2l or 5.9l. You will be money ahead over modding the 3.9L and This is the single best and most bang for your buck improvement you can do.

Message: No sh*t. No muffler is going to be any better than a cheap ol' glass pack! And many of them FANCY muffler's ARE GLASS PACKS in MUFFLER body's! As far as losing torque with one. That's B.S. Just have the right sized pipe and length.
I've looked at cut aways. Pretty bad to spend 3 times the coin for a MAGNAFLOW over just buying a Glass Pack.
I have a Flowmaster. Unique sound. Great sound at idle and off idle. Not quite loud enough on full throttle though like a Glass Pack. I may do duals with glass packs here in the future.

Message: I beg to differ on the Magnaflow=glasspack thing G.D...
All the glass packs I've seen had a louvered core where as the MF is a perforated core. This smoothes out the flow for a straight shot through the muffler, as opposed to (for example) a Flowmaster's maze.
MF also has a stainless steel packing which holds up MANY TIMES longer than fiberglass.
I have a Magnaflow and love it. You have a FM and love it...no single muffler is best for all people.
Anyway...sorry for hijacking your post.

Message: I had a 94 3.9L and spent a lot of money trying to make it go faster...it didn't. Finally bought a newer truck with the 4.7L V-8. I know a lot of people will argue the point, but I really think you would be wasting your money for the minor gains you would see.
