Subject: How to finish repair?

Message:
Monday night on the way home from work my windshield wipers quit working in mid wipe. I could hear the motor running but the wipers were not moving. I was able to manually move the wipers back down. Yesterday I took a look at the assembly and found the bushing from the wiper motor had broken. I picked up a set of general wiper bushings for Chrysler products from Advanced Auto.
The bushing is a very tight fit. I had to use two small c-clamps and a straight edge to get the bushing into the bar. I then tried to put the bushing&bar onto the post from the wiper motor. I can only get it on about half way. There is not enought clearence behind the post to get a c-clamp in.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to complete this repair?

I saw your post before, but I have no experience doing that repair. Sorry.

Anyone else?
