Subject: Calling all code pros =OBDII Code: P0601 IP: Logged
Message: I had my 2001 R/T scanned for a check engine light and got a P0601 code. It is an "Internal Control Module Check Sum Error". While I know this has to do with the ROM, the truck runs like a raped ape.
I just bought the truck a couple of weeks back, could this be the result of a poor aftermarket tune or one of those crappy Hypertech jobbers?
I know if the PCM is fried or the ROM is fried, the truck wouldn't run... so I want to know how serious of a code this is? Is it a phantom code (similar to GMs)?
Lastly... where can I find the RPO build sheet on this truck? And can it tow roughly 4000-4500lbs with trailer brakes?
Thanks all in advance... I appreciate it!!!

Message: stupid, but that code went away after replacing an O2 sensor on my truck. Believe it was the downstream one.

Message: At this point... nothing sounds stupid. This weekend I'll put the R/T in the air and scope the O2's.
Did you specifically have the P0601 code? I thought the O2 codes were different. I guess I'll keep you informed on if that works. Thanks for the reply.
