Subject: Knocking!Pinging!

My 99 5.2 knocks loud when im going about 70 km and push the gas down half to three quaters down.Generally up a hill! What is the best correction for this? Timing? Better gas? spark plugs? What is the best fix? Thx

my 99 3.9 lost its ping after new cap/rotor, new plug wires, and switching to ap3923 plugs.

obviously, results may vary.

Your words (knocking loud) sujests vacumn leak > If you have no serious dammage to any vacumn hoses I'd bet money your problem is the metal pan under your aluminun intake > You best fix it very soon if it's as bad as your making it sound before internal engine dammage gets hold of your wallet >

Ya I read that in the manual/ vacuum leak. But I will also check the pan thing out . Thx alot!

I've owned the 3.9L and now have an R/T. I know the manual says the motor was designed to run o.k. on 87 octane but that's a bunch of crap! I run premium and it's worth every penny. Do the math, you're not saving much by upgrading. And the performance is much better. We're talking a couple bucks per fill up.
