Subject: loud Cooling fan IP: Logged
Message: Ever you ever noticed that when you engine gets hot (older dakotas) that the fan picks up speed? Mine picked up enough speed to make a loud buzzing sound. I just wonder was the shock wave from the tips breaking the Sound Barrier

Message: Nope. If you have a 20" fan and your engine is doing 6000 rpm, the blade tips are only doing 360mph or so, if my pencil was working right.
That's about half, though.
