Message: I'd suggest to check with some local shops for the best deal. Body shops typically charge in the neighborhood of $38 per hour plus materials. After that is the paint and supplies. BTW, depending on the condition of your paint, a good body shop will not just paint the cowl but will also fade the paint in the hood and fenders. If they don't, the cowl may standout to much.

Message: Tell me what body shops only charge 38 dollars. Here in Indiana the average labor rate for body work is 50-60 dollars per hour. The one I worked at for a couple of months was 50 dollars an hour.
