Subject: 02 Airbag Replacement IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone with a service manual know what is required to be
replaced when the airbags have deployed? I put in a new
clockspring but the light stays on yet. Do the seat belts have pre-
tensioners? They appear to have a small chamber and wiring
similar to an airbag.
Thanks

Message: Heres the list: Of course airbags, then module, and clock spring. It wouldn't hurt to take a look at the wiring harness connections as well. I don't believe you have pretensioners, but to be on the same side, look at the end of the assembly by where the seat belt anchors to the cab/frame(behind seat) and look for a 2 lead wire harness that attaches to a small metallic cylinder. If you have this, then yes replace it. Just remember if you are doing this yourself, to remove the neg battery terminal, getting hit by a deployed airbag at close range will completely ruin your day:) Good luck.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: Thanks cuzindoug. The salvage yard said the modules usually
don't need replacing but the dash light is still on. The seatbelts do
have a two wire connector that looks the same as the air bags.
There goes a couple hundred bucks again!
