 Subject: lower radiator hose

Question for the group....my lower radiator hose feels like it is full of something (not liquid) I don't know much about this but I am assuming that this shouldn't be. Am I right? I'm guessing that I should take the hose off and drain the system

The lower radiator hose has a coiled wire in it to keep it from collapsing under the suction of the water pump. When you can squeeze it flat with your hand, it's time to replace it.
