Message: Has anyone experienced a starting issue with their 2001-2003 Dakota? The other day I got into my truck and turned the key and absolutely nothing happened. Starter didn't even try to engage. I tried jumping it and still nothing. I turned on the headlights and they didn't dim when I tuned the key. So, I had it towed to a Dealership and when I called them the the next day they said it started right up for them on the first try and couldn't find any problems with anything. When I show up they charge me $88 because they could not find a problem. However, they now say they think it's my battery. Which is a joke. The truck is still under warranty. So, I figure 1 of 2 things happened. Either they couldn't find a problem and they wanted to make money anyway. (Since they had it on record that I tuned down getting my 35,000 diagnostic) Or, the problem was minor to fix and they wanted to make money. Any thoughts?

Message: Auto or manual? Could have been the neutral or clutch safety switch, or your starter relay... You can take your battery to most auto parts stores and get them checked for free.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.
