Subject: Dodge Rampage. IP: Logged
Message: I was on my way to the junk yard and on the side of the road I saw an old rampage for 850... Motor runs and everything.. it's just BUTT ugly.. Im wanting to fix something up and I was wondering if its worth 850? I know you'd have to take a look at it yourself to get REAL value but they said the only thing wrong was an exhaust leak.. everything else is just costmetic

Message: Also, they didn't make that many, but it shares many parts with the 024/Turismo/Charger front-wheel-drive cars of that era. They're a lot like a Pug or bulldog. They'll never be considered beautiful, but they're kinda cool in an odd way.

Message: They can be pretty neet little car/truck things. There is a small modding community out there for them, but like he said, they didn't make that many of them.

Message: I always thought the Rampage was kind of a cool looking rig. I was in High School when they came out. I was going to buy a same era charger when I was 17, but it had been beat hard and my dad said he wouldn't lift a finger to help me with the thing, so I bought a Datsun he agreed to help me with instead. Beat on that thing for five years!

Message: The Rampage was Dodge's only attempt at the Ranchero/El Camino car/truck concept. A total of 45,000 were produced from 1982-1984. They have a deep-dish steering wheel to absorb energy in a crash, since the steering column won't collapse (!!!). A 175HP Turbo II 2.2 would drop right in. About the only thing lighter in weight was the Shelby Omni GLHS.

Message: A sleeper is a vehicle that's been modified for more power while keeping stock looks - pretty much the opposite of a ricer.

Not many rampages were made, not many exist in drivable condition either I bet. If you want a unique vehicle, the rampage is for you.

a 440 will fit in anything. it just takes a big enough hammer. hehee
how do you think a dakota with a 440 would perform?
i would say 13.00s with just a 440 and a good 4b carb

Message: it's not as easy as putting a stock 440 in a dakota to get 13 flats.. depending on the year of the 440, you will need to swap a few things out.. a must aluminum intake manifold, headers and a good holley.
the next thing to do is figure out how to get all the torque to the ground.
