 Subject: NV3500 leaking, Hurst Shifter?

I installed a hurst competition plus shifter about week ago and now I notice a massive leak coming from my tranny. Could the shifter have anything to do with it, or is it just a coincidence? I really dont think it has anything to do with the shifter, any ideas? its leaking pretty bad.

Check to be sure the shifter is still on there tight.
I have had massive leaks on 2 separate NV3500 transmissions (both in Dakota's) after missing a shift (hard shifting).
On my current dak I just went in and re-tightened the bolts (nothing to the gasket) and my leak went away.
