Got my front end aligned and took it back because it pulled to the left. Now truck goes straight but steering wheel is about 5degrees off. Does this hurt the truck/tires? Am I being anal about this or should it go back once more? What about taking it to a dealer for an alignment? Any help?

take it back and tell them to center the steering wheel. I went to sears one time with my mustang anf they had the steering wheel way off. I took it back and told them I want it centered. they tried to give me some beef but I said you screwed it up now fix it. they centered it for me. so dont settle for 2 nd best. also some dealerships takes cars to other places to get the front end aligned. I have always taken my vehicles to sears with no probs. except for my 95 ranger. had it 5 years ands never had to get the front end aligned. best lil truck I ever had lol .

Dealers can be just as bad; ask some mechanics in garages that don't do alignments to find out who does the best front end work in your area. There's a lot of hackers out there, someone who knows what they're doing will get it right the first time with the steering centered. Some of the hacks will just pull the wheel to center it, you really don't want them working on your truck.

At the shop I have my tire, brake, alignment, etc. work done the mechanic tells me that aligning Dodge trucks and vans is different than most everything else on the road. He's been doing it for yers and knows how to work the angles to get it right. In fact, beside him and the owner nobody else at that shop does Dodge alignments. (It sounds close to a curious art to me.)

It is very possible that you have run into someone that is not quite as "expert" as he needs to be to get the job done right.

last time i got an alignment the guy had to change the toe since the camber couldn't go further. or something. very confusing but it made sense to him, and he said its a common thing with dodges.
he's the guy that all the local "tire only" shops send people to.
