 Subject: No Headlights!!

For some reason the other night my headlights, tail lights, front signal lights and my fog lights wouldnt turn on... also all the lights on my dash dont come on, including the gauge cluster... someone said my multifuncion switch went bad... does this sound right to anyone???

Okay thanks!... thats what i wanted to know.. bad thing is, its a dealer only part and they want $70 for it... but i guess it could be worse...

the only junk yard around me only has 1 dakota and the inside of the truck was burnt up.... the guy told me it was a practical joke that went terribly wrong...

Well, maybe I could find you a cheap one here and have it shipped to you... Or someone else... But it might be a better investment to go with the dealership

He said it was a halloween joke from last year... they covered the truck in orange shrink wrap and cut out some holes and put candles inside to make it look like a rolling jackolantern...

also. my regular turn signals and hazards work.. and my highbeams work fine too.. i just have to pull the switch... and brake lights work when i step on the brake

Hmmm, im not sure about that year but have you checked EVERY fuse? Even the relays and stuff like that? Just check everything that has to do with the headlights, then after that check everything connected with the turn signals, and so on and so forth... Maybe try going to Dodgetalk.com and posting there.. they usually give some pretty good help... I wish I could help more!

Additional to what I said above, maybe there is a bad wire connection to the switch... Have you checked to see if any wires were possibly damaged or shorted out? If it did short out, im sure a fuse or two blew.. Its not what anyone wants to hear but maybe check the wires going to the switch...

i checked all of the fuses.. but i dont think its a relay cause if it was a relay my turn signals and hazards would work, would they?

Like i said, im not too sure about that year model... So you'd be better off asking someone at dodgetalk.com who is fimilar with that specific model...

Ok finally got it fixed, i figured out that it had to be a loose wire inside the steering column, so i took everything apart , started looking and found it.. thanks for the help guys
