Subject: Thank God for Extended Warranties... IP: Logged
Message: Man... I just got off the phone with the dealer (my Dak had to go to the shop yesterday since the "Check Engine" light came on...)
I thought it was just gonna be something small like an O2 sensor went out or something, but here's what they found:
Leaks in the Intake Gasket, Oil Pan Gasket, Rear Main Seal, Timing Cover Gasket, and in the water pump...
They also found that it had a cracked cylinder head as well...
All in all, this is about $1,500 worth of repairs... and I paid $1,600 for the extended warranty about 3 months ago (since I bought the truck used... 2000 miles under the 3/36,000 standard factory warranty.
Now I am REALLY happy that I decided to buy that warranty!

Message: Nope... she was still runnin' strong... except for exceptionally poor gas mileage.
I was getting about 11 MPG in the city and I am supposed to be getting around 13...
Well with that prognosis...that would explain alot. However, to it's credit... what OTHER engine do you know of that can have that many things going wrong and still run like a champ?
I gotta admit... I'm impressed by the 5.2L right about now...
