Subject: Shocks IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 2WD Dakota with about 85,000 miles on it. I had new tires put on last weekend and the guy told me that the rear shocks are leaking a little. He showed them to me and pointed out the moisture on the lower portion of the shocks. Since my extended warranty covers shocks, I have an appointmemt with the dealership tomorrow to have them inspected. I suspect the dealership will say they look fine in order to get out of replacing my shocks. If this turns out to be the case, what arguments can I use to get them to treat me right and replace all four shocks?
I would appreciate any advise.

Message: Shocks usually fall in to the same catagory as beakes, clutches, belts, etc. It's a standard wear item and therefore not covered. Pull out you contract and read it carefully; I bet you'll find the answer there.
Get whatever shock meets your driving requirements, and install them yourself. It's really easy - unless you live in salt country.
