do the lights work? I'm guessing no... The rapid flash means there is a broken connection in the circuit. COuld be a bad bulb, bad connection at the bulb socket, broken wire in the circuit, burnt fuse...

Check your turn signal flasher/relay in the fuse box under your dash. its the round relay at the top of the fuse block. My 99 Dak did the samething and I replaced the flasher, and it works fine.

It is only the rt. hand turn indicator and I have replaced both bulbs and the fuse looks to be ok and the bulbs work fine. The left hand turn indicator and the hazards function properly though and both turn idicators and the hazards are on the same fuse. What next?

I had this happen on my '04 Quad Cab dealership replaced the flasher/relay block and that fixed the problem.
It's the big round heavy duty mother like Cowboy describes.

Ricers pay big money for them rapid flashing blinkers, and all we gotta do is have a short in the circuit :) Too bad were not ricer freaks.

"rronts ned" is then the ternal flashir next tu the blinker fluid resivor.
It's probably time to change it or bottom it off.

i had this same problem in my dakota. It ended up being a connection right between the bumper and spare tire that had come loose. If you follow the wires back towards the front of the pickup you will find it. Worked for me. Maybe for you.
