Message: that will fit daks! looking to swap my v6 for a big v8 and the 5.9 magnums are hard to come by for a cheap price...something more common...will the chevy 350 fit? or something like that?

if you are going to do that put in a chevy 383 and stroke it.
better yet put in a 440ci those aren't hard to find my uncle sells them.
all you need is a sawsall to make it fit.

340, 360, 383, 400 (ask intense), 426, 440, and almost any other engine in between

Message: ya beat me to it dave.. a 383 is the stroker, you dont stroke the 383..
unless of course that 383 is a mopar B engine and you put a 440/413 crank in it and make it 426 cubic inches.

Message: I love 383s. Thats what I have in my firebird. Tourque monsters. I believe the 355 can be made faster in the quarter though. They for some reason seem to be able to take more abuse.

Message: Could a stock 360 crank be used to stroke a 318 without out dremeling out any of the block. Would the power gain be worth the hassle. The longer stroke would yeild more torque but it would rev slower right?
