toolfan, just so that you know, a 383 is a stroker. it is a 350 block with a 400 crank in it. im not flamming ya, just letting you know.

ya beat me to it dave.. a 383 is the stroker, you dont stroke the 383..

unless of course that 383 is a mopar B engine and you put a 440/413 crank in it and make it 426 cubic inches.

I love 383s. Thats what I have in my firebird. Tourque monsters. I believe the 355 can be made faster in the quarter though. They for some reason seem to be able to take more abuse.

yes, you can stroke a 350 sb with a 400 sb crank and get a 383.

but what you said was get a 383 and then stroke it.

"when they say 383 stroker" it's just a 350 with a 400 crank?

if you put a 360 crank in a 318 what does that give you?

i know i was wrong, man i am useless

Could a stock 360 crank be used to stroke a 318 without out dremeling out any of the block. Would the power gain be worth the hassle. The longer stroke would yeild more torque but it would rev slower right?
