Subject: E brake locks up? IP: Logged
Message: On my 93 Dakota 4X4 I don't dare apply my Ebrake anymore or it seems to get stuck on.
My '98 did the same thing? I was going to order a new hardware kit (springs and such) for my rear brakes. I have heared its a common problem? Is it the cable too with these things.
Any help would be apprecitated....thanks!

Message: Do you use it often? If not, the cable and all of the hardware can get corroded and gummed up.
I have an auto, but use mine regularly even on slight inclines just to keep stress off of the tranny.

Message: I never use it as it locks up.
Which cable is more prone to seizing up. I would hat to have to pull the entire assembly.

Message: It wont lock up if you use it all the time.
Apply some penetrating oil.
