Message: Ok, this month has been hectic. 97 CC 4x4 Modifications now include new rear brake drums and shoes, Power Slot rotors/Hawk pads up front w/new stock calipers and speed bleeders, Edelbrock IAS on all 4 corners, KN FIPK2 and Gibson Stainless Cat Back, Moog upper and lower ball joints and finally 31x10.5x15 BFG AT KO's. The shop that did the tires not only screws up 3 of my rims but tells me the truck is alligned but pulls to the right because of steering box play/slop? Dont think this is the case but am open to suggestions. Just seems to me that if it were in the steering box it would tend to pull in the diredtion of the last turn or bounce back and forth depending on road conditions? Steering wheel is of course also no longer centered.

Message: Steering wheel slop is pretty easy to diagnose (and fairly common). With the engine off, very gently move the wheel back and forth. You'll be able to feel the worn gears under your fingers. If the rim of the wheel moves more than 1/4", you have a significant problem.
