Subject: A/C leaking into cab! IP: Logged
Message: I had my a/c drain back-up and leak about 1/2 gal of water onto my passenger carpet and floor board. I know this is a problem with Dakota's and Durango's, but what can I do to fix it? Thanks for any help.

Message: did it backup or did the hose come lose or off? Make sure a dirt dobber didn't make himself at home in the end of the hose. I had that problem with a car one time and the only way I got it to stop was sell the blasted thing. Smelled like mildue all the time and ruined the carpet. No man, theres definitely a reason for the leak, and its either lose, its off, its not strait down, or its something besides the hose. Yeah I know, I was alot of help.

Message: It's happened twice before but only just a barely dampened the carpet then it was fine. This time it soaked thru enough to leave visible water coming thru the carpet. I crawled under my truck to see if I could find the drain and I couldn't find anything that looked like a drain tube.

Message: My drain tube is under a heat shield just behind the exhaust cat, pass side, firewall. two screws held the heat shield in place. Its behind there on my 00 and 02 daks, used a 1/2 inch street elbow with a small hose clamp to divert the condensate down. Worked great.
