OK, heres the scoop: My truck(97 3.9 auto), has been acting weird for the last week. Last Friday, me and my fiance were driving around and as I came up to a stop sign, the "check gauges" light came on and my oil pressure dropped to zero. 2 seconds later, it went off, and the oil pressure returned to normal. I replaced the oil pressure sending unit the following day, and it didn't do it anymore. Well, last night I was driving home and it did it again. Same thing, came on and then went off 2 seconds later. Today, I went to get my haircut, and truck ran fine. On the way home, I turned my headlights on, and the "ABS" light and "Brake" light came on and went off together. Truck ran fine and when I got home I cut the truck off and tried to crank it again but it wouldn't do nothing. I bought a new battery(the old one had a small acid leak on the side) and thought everything was ok. Driving around tonite and the danged "check gauges" light comes on and oil pressure goes to zero and again it goes off by itself. Everytime it does this, the truck idles fine, it only does it when I am stopped, and it only does it if I go over 60 mph for more than 10-15 seconds. Its confusing the crap outta me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

greendak, I'd start with the cheapest thing first.
Check that all ground jumpers are clean and tight.
Only other thing I can think of that may be giving
the problem is the PCM. Check connections to that
also. It *may* have to be replaced.

Let us know what you find out...

Good luck!

I'm hoping that the PCM isn't the problem. I'm gonna have my friend come over and take a look at it to see what he thinks. I'm wondering if the new oil pressure sending unit could be a bad one.
