 Subject: How to disable EVS II

I've recently purchased a used 2003 Dakota Club Cab 4x4 w/ the 4.7 V8. It came pretty much loaded including the EVSII. To be honest with you all, I find the alarm more of a pain than anything else. My biggest complaint is that it arms itself after so many minutes of the truck being parked. I hate having to grab my keys to disarm the EVSII just to get into my truck parked in my garage unlocked with the windows down.
How do I disable the alarm or make it so that the alarm only arms when I use FOB to lock the doors? I have already tried pushing in the hidden button while turning the key in the ignition, but that didn't seem to do anything for it. Also does anybody know where I might be able to get a users manual for the alarm, either online or otherwise?
Other than that, I do love my new Dakota!!!
